Ride to Dandiganahalli Dam

This location was in my mind for a very long time.Dandiganahalli dam is located in chikballapur district.The dam is around 90kms from Bangalore.

There are two routes to reach this dam,one is to reach chickballapur and then take route towards dodaballapur.After travelling 17 kms you need to take a right turn.Google maps will help you.

I took a longer route,which circumnavigates the Majestic Nandi Hills.This route is full of greenery and vegetable fields.

The ideal time to visit is from June to December.I visited on 5th June 2017

Place is less known and its better to take food and water.

Ride to Thimmappana Betta - Ramnagara

Its been 3 weeks since my last ride..(Refer my previous blog) and it had rained heavily the previous night .Thimappana Betta is around 58kms from my home.You need to take a right deviation once you reach Ramanagara which is on Bangalore -Mysore highway.

It is less commercialised and you will find hardly any people.To my surprise a marriage was scheduled atop the hill and there were a bit crowd(local villagers).

Once you reach the top,either you can park the vehicle and climb the granite hillock else if you are adventurous enough you can ride the vehicle atop.I chose to drive atop..!!

Tips - No food or water available,if you are lucky enough you can find vultures.
           Better to go along with groups,so that you can explore or trek nearby hillocks.

Interacted with a silkworm farmer on my way back.
